#1 Cell Carrier Coverage. If the individual lives in an area where cell coverage is unavailable, then the devices we represent will only pick up on the GPS signal signal and will not get an accurate location since cellular connection is required for triangulation purposes.

Missing Children is a growing epidemic worldwide, for this reason the “Amber Alert System” was established.Amber Alert is an organization that reports missing children’s information and pictures to the necessary establishments – such as the police, in order to locate lost, missing or abducted children as quickly as possible.

The Amber Alert organization needs the communities help – if you are interested in receiving Amber Alerts for Lost, missing or abducted children through your cell phone, please follow these steps:

• Type the word “AMBER” on your cell phone and then place a space, immediately followed by your zip code.
• Once you have done this, send the request to the following number: 26237.
• Once your registration is received, you will immediately receive a reply. This reply is sent to confirm the fact that you want to receive the notifications that the Amber alert system will send.
• This is an absolutely free service offered to citizens within the United States. It is an effective means of reaching as many individuals in a community or a neighboring community as possible when a child is abducted. Many children have been successfully located using the wireless based version of Amber alerts.

In the past, most hospital facilities and assisted living environments have used ‘bed checks’- a sensor that alarms when a patient leaves their bed, which of course is of some value and was the only sentinel available. One of the critical issues that the health care industry faces is the ability to track clients when they go missing. The way the system operates today is that the bed check will send out an alarm to the central monitoring stations but it is too late since the patient has already left their bed. The underlying situation is there is no way to track the patient once they have left the designated area? Just as facilities currently use telemetry to monitor cardiac events of multiple patients via computer they can now also monitor multiple at risk patients’ locations using personal tracking devices.
