Locate via APP & Computer:
Locate your child through our new Smart-Phone application available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Droid, and any web enabled phone. Simply log on and see the latest location of your child…it’s that easy! The APP also allows you to set and manage alerts. Anywhere you receive email, through phone or computer; you can receive the alerts when triggered.

Live Tracking via APP & Computer:
You can actually watch the movement of your child on your web-enabled Smart-Phone or computer. Every 60 seconds you will see the location of your child, giving you a live map of where they are, where they have been ….and where they just might be headed.

2-Way Voice:
Call the device and you can communicate with your child. It’s just like having a cell phone on them, but much safer. The device doesn’t ring or vibrate…it just automatically connects! If you are concerned about their well-being, you can also call just to listen in without being heard. On the other hand, in an emergency your child can hold down the green button on the Armor device and will immediately call you! This feature costs $9.99 per month for 30 minutes of 2 way voice.

Predator Alert:
The Amber Alert GPS Armor ties into and collaborates with the national sex offender database. Simply put in your zip code and when your child comes within 500 feet of a registered sex offender’s residence, up to 10 previously-designated people will be alerted via email with an address and map. This extra feature is available for $5.99 per month.

Extended Battery:
The Standard battery life for the AAGPS Armor is anywhere from 24 to 48 hours depending on location (a vast improvement over the 2G device). Some rural areas or areas next to military bases pose a problem because they drain the battery quicker and have to work harder to locate a cell tower. If you think you’ll need additional battery life (48+ hours), then you can order the extended battery pack instead of the standard battery option. The extended battery pack makes the device a little deeper in size, but is still one of the smallest on the market. The extended battery costs an additional $39.99.

*All alerts will be sent to up to 10 people who you determine in our admin section to be on your account.

See how the predecessor of Amber Alert GPS Armor works:

Safe Zone:
Define a virtual boundary (safe zone) around your neighborhood, school or any where you choose. Receive an alert when your AAGPS is carried outside of that safe zone. You will continue to receive safe zone alerts by text and email (you choose) every 5 minutes giving you a bread crumb location trail. The safe zone can easily be changed or cancelled in seconds from your cell phone or from our website.

SOS Button:
If your child is in a dangerous or threatening situation, or has a medical emergency, they can press and hold the SOS button. The device will then send a “HELP ME” text and email to 5 trusted individuals that you have predetermined. The text and email will contain the street address and map link. A “HELP ME” text and email containing their current or updated location will be sent to all users every 5 minutes until the emergency is resolved.

Speed Alert:
Set a speed limit for your AAGPS device from your cell phone or computer. Receive a notification when your AAGPS surpasses the defined speed. If the device is on an individual, you will know immediately that they are in a car. This feature is great for speeding teenagers!

Temperature Alert:
Set the hot and cold temperature thresholds for your AAGPS device easily from your computer. Receive a notification when your AAGPS temperature surpasses or drops below these thresholds. This feature is very critical when children are left in hot cars.

Bread Crumbing:
You can have the Amber Alert GPS unit send you messages on a regular time schedule, set by you, to tell you the exact whereabouts of your child from moment to moment. This will save you time of having to call the AAGPS unit every time you want an update (only available with “Unlimited Plan”).

Destination Alert:
Do you want to be notified when your child arrives at school, soccer practice, or the mall? You can with our latest feature: Destination Alert. Destination Alert allows the parent to define an area on a map, and receive notification by text and/or email when the child arrives. It’s easy and it gives you one more tool to keep your child safe!

Voice Monitioring:
Voice monitoring provides an additional tool for the safety of your child. If at anytime you would like to know what’s going on around your child, you can simply access this feature. Even during use the child never knows that you are listening in. The voice monitoring add-on comes with 30 minutes of “listening in” time. Many parents add on this feature so that they will know what is going on in an emergency. If the child presses the SOS and you want to assess the situation, this is the quickest way!

Will AAGPS Armor work anywhere?
The AAGPS Armor is dependent upon 2 technologies – GPS and cell phone (GSM). Anywhere you can receive both a GPS signal and have cell phone reception, the device will work.

Technical

How can AAGPS track indoor? Don’t all GPS devices need a straight line of sight to the sky?
The AAGPS Armor is using real time tracking. This means that the device is constantly receiving and recording the latest location on the device. When the device goes inside a building, the unit will retrieve the latest location information from the device. If the device is close to a window within a building, it will get a GPS signal.

If my child is camping in a remote area with no cell phone service, would I be able to track it from my home?
The AAGPS Armor is dependent upon 2 technologies – GPS and cell phone (GSM). Anywhere you can receive both a GPS signal and have cell phone reception, the device will work.

What is the difference between GPS & E911?
E911 is a technology that uses cell towers to locate. In a nut shell, this is how it works. If you’re trying to locate your child, the device will send out a signal to the cell towers. The 3 nearest cell towers do a mathematical equation to determine where the child is. This is called cellular triangulation. It is not very accurate. It is an approximate location. Cell phone companies use this technology for their GPS tracking. The location often changes within seconds. The best way to get accurate information is to use GPS. This is the best technology in the market right now to track your child.

How long does the battery last?
Under normal use, without constant speed alerts, temperature alerts, and 2 way voice communication – the battery lasts between 24 and 48 hours. If every single alert is activated at the same time, then the battery life may be as low as 8-10 hours.

How many tracks can I get on a full charge?
The device is reporting a location to the web portal every 60 seconds. When the device is not moving then it will go to sleep. You should be able to get 1-2 days usage at this rate.

What is “real time” checking and how does it affect the battery life?
If a device is constantly checking and storing a new location – that is called “real time”. If a device in on “stand-by” or “sleep” mode, then it’s not constantly updating its location information. The AAGPS Armor has real time checking and receives a new GPS location every minute. Why is this important? If your child goes into an area that does not have a GPS signal, such as a tunnel, cave, parking garage, etc. – the AAGPS Armor will know where your child was 1 minute before they went into such an area. This is critical! If a child goes missing – you’ll be able to know the closest possible location before the GPS signal was lost.

How do I change my 10 authorized users?
You can change or update the authorized users anytime by using your log in and password on the aa-gps.com tracking website.

If I can receive alerts by emails do I need to have a text messaging plan to use this product?
No, but we highly recommend using a smart phone with our APP and having your emails sent directly to your phone. If you are away from your computer at a mall, park, or any other location and your child goes missing, you would want to be able to receive alerts and track from your cell phone. This feature is what makes the AAGPS Armor unique – you can be mobile. Of course you can do all tracking from your computer if that is more convenient and affordable.

Do I need to wait for the low battery alert to recharge the unit?
No. You can charge it anytime you’d like. Please note that charging it too often can deteriorate the battery. We recommend on charging when needed, but it you know you’re child will be gone for a long period of time, please make sure you have adequate battery life.

Can I charge the unit from my computer or car?
Yes. The AAGPS Armor has a standard micro USB port. If you have the appropriate cable, then you can charge from your computer. Please note that computer voltage is not the same as a standard outlet. We also have a car charger available as an accessory.
